Ethos
American symphonic prog band that emerged in the mid-1970s, known for blending symphonic rock with elements of space rock and jazz fusion. The band's sound was characterized by intricate compositions, synthesizer-driven arrangements, and melodic guitar work. They released two albums, Ardour (1976) and Open Up (1977), both of which received critical recognition within the progressive rock community. Ethos' music drew comparisons to bands like Yes and Genesis, but they maintained a distinct American style that set them apart from their British counterparts.
