Ageless returns with their fourth album, "4-Ever 13.10," a concept record inspired by "All the Light We Cannot See," the recent Netflix miniseries based on Anthony Doerr's acclaimed WWII novel. The idea was sparked by Michael Stolt (The Flower Kings), who suggested to Elliot Rogers that the story’s themes of forbidden radio broadcasts, resilience, and connection could be fertile ground for a concept album. Rogers and his musical partner, Wayne Farias, took the idea and ran with it, crafting an evocative journey that’s as haunting as it is inspiring.

From the first track, Ageless draws listeners into a war-torn world where hope and defiance transmit through secret frequencies. The album’s namesake, "13.10," represents an illegal radio frequency—a symbol of forbidden knowledge and a lifeline to those daring enough to listen. Rogers and Farias, veterans of Neal Morse’s music workshops, bring a level of emotional depth and narrative sophistication to this album, weaving each track into a cohesive story. Fellow Neal Morse workshop alumnus Brent Bristow (Emerald City Council) makes a guest appearance with a soulful saxophone solo, adding a layer of warmth and melancholy to one of the album’s standout moments.

Ageless

With this release, Ageless has proven that they’re a band on a powerful trajectory, and Neal Morse would undoubtedly be proud of how far they’ve come.

Musically, "4-Ever 13.10" showcases Ageless’s growth as songwriters and performers. The duo’s trademark accessibility and melodic strength are present, but with even greater depth and complexity. Fans of Neal Morse’s storytelling and progressive sensibilities will find much to love here; it’s easy to see how Morse’s influence and mentorship have shaped their path. Yet, with each album, Ageless carves out more of their own identity, balancing influences from classic prog with a unique narrative approach and emotional directness that make their music deeply listenable.

"4-Ever 13.10" is an album that resonates with both historical gravity and timeless themes of courage, connection, and the human spirit. With this release, Ageless has proven that they’re a band on a powerful trajectory, and Neal Morse would undoubtedly be proud of how far they’ve come.

We’re huge fans here at Prog Radio, so plan on hearing many of these songs in our current rotation, as well as featured in this week’s “What’s New Proggy Cats?” show. But wait, there’s more… Elliot and Wayne will be Guest DJing here on Prog Radio this coming Friday, Nov. 15, 12 PM Noon (ET), and on Sunday, Nov. 17, 11 AM (ET), they’ll be joining Scot Lade and me for an Album Spotlight on The Prog Corner’s YouTube channel, simulcast here on Prog Radio.
