David Gilmour, approaching 80, has just released what may be the best "Pink Floyd"-related work in recent years. Luck and Strange, his seventh solo album, showcases his iconic voice, at times enriched with a tingle of rasp that adds even more character.

Romany Gilmour, his 22-year-old daughter, shines on two of the tracks. Her performance hints at a promising future, and it would be exciting to hear more from her in this vein.

This album is a beautifully crafted and thoroughly enjoyable listen. While it's uncertain how many more albums we’ll get from David, here's hoping for many more!

You can catch several tracks from Luck and Strange in rotation on Prog Radio and during Monday’s "What's New Proggy Cats?" broadcast.
