2023 isn’t done with us yet! It has brought us yet another stellar album from a young, up-and-coming prog band. Let us not overlook these “youngsters." Keep in mind, most the great classic prog we love from Genesis, Jethro Tull, Yes, etc., were made when those artists were in their 20’s. Some great prog can be made when all those brains synapses are still firing full blast!

Vamoosery's debut album, "Moving Forward," is a refreshing addition to the progressive rock scene. This young band has skillfully combined elements of alternative rock and pop with a progressive twist, resulting in an album that's both innovative and enjoyable. One foot in what we all love about prog, with the other racing full-on to the future.

Let us not overlook these “youngsters." Keep in mind, most the great classic prog we love from Genesis, Jethro Tull, Yes, etc., were made when those artists were in their 20’s. Some great prog can be made when all those brains synapses are still firing full blast!

My favorite track, "Archaeologist," immediately grabs attention with its skillful guitar work and strong vocals, and is a perfect song to hear what Vamoosery is all about: a blend of modern rock styles with a progressive edge. The vocals throughout the album are particularly noteworthy, bringing an emotional depth to the songs that is compelling. Throughout "Moving Forward," Vamoosery demonstrates a knack for catchy, yet complex songwriting, with an ability to create songs that are not only musically interesting but also lyrically meaningful.

A key strength of the album is its balance between technical proficiency and accessibility. The guitar solos and rhythmic variations will appeal to fans of traditional progressive rock, while the overall sound remains approachable for a broader audience. This blend is what sets Vamoosery apart and makes "Moving Forward" a noteworthy debut, and also makes it a perfect fit for Prog Radio, alongside other young up-and-coming bands like Advent Horizon and Nospūn. Can we get these three bands on a tour together? Please.

"Moving Forward" positions Vamoosery as a promising new force in progressive rock. The album is a well-crafted mix of catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and musical complexity. It’s a strong first showing that not only highlights the band's potential but also makes a clear statement: Vamoosery is here to make an impact.
Be sure to tune into Prog Radio where you’ll be hearing plenty from this great album in our New Music rotation. Oh, and a nice bonus, Vamoosery even has some really amazing holiday songs you’ll also be able to enjoy this month at Prog Radio!
