With over three and a half decades in the music industry, Canadian progressive rock ensemble, Mystery, has unveiled their eighth studio album, "Redemption." This album highlights their sustained expertise in crafting melodic progressive rock, with eight tracks that offer a satisfying blend of complexity and accessibility.
The album takes flight with the monumental "Behind the Mirror," establishing the overarching tone of the record through its soaring vocals, sophisticated guitar riffs, and forceful drum work. Other noteworthy pieces include the prog-pop jewel "Pearls and Fire", the ethereal ballad "Every Note", and the titular track, which presents a grand exploration of themes including loss, redemption, and hope. The album, already splendid, concludes with the spectacular 19-minute epic, "Is This How the Story Ends?"
"Redemption" is a nuanced and refined album that reveals Mystery's evolution as a band. It demands the attention of progressive rock enthusiasts and is poised to charm new audiences as well. Its content is rich with memorable melodies and catchy hooks, while the musicianship demonstrates the utmost quality, with each band member delivering a peak performance. The lyrics are intellectually stimulating and evoke deep thought.
"Redemption" is an awe-inspiring album, perhaps Mystery’s best yet. Prog Radio is delighted to introduce several tracks from this fresh album into our New Music rotation. Tune in to experience the magic!
